A look at the projects, spaces, and milestones that brought the Modesto transformation together.

Phase 1 | Honoring the Team | 4 Weeks

The transformation began with the Valor Wall and training room, creating spaces dedicated to recognizing employees and supporting learning and development.

Phase 2 | Bringing the Hallways to Life | 8 Weeks

Phase 2 introduced environmental graphics throughout the employee hallways, transforming everyday pathways into engaging spaces that reflect the site’s identity and culture.

 

Phase 3 | Expanding the Transformation | 8 Weeks

Building on the earlier improvements, Phase 3 extended the transformation into the main lobby, additional employee hallways, the supervisor’s office on the production floor, and dispatch area. New exterior signage further strengthened the facility’s visual identity, creating a more cohesive experience inside and out.

Phase 4 | Refreshing the Employee Break Room | 4 Weeks

The final phase focused on the employee break room, refreshing a key gathering space to create a more welcoming and engaging environment where employees can relax, recharge, and connect.

A Transformation in Phases.

A look at the projects, spaces, and milestones that brought the Modesto transformation together.

Phase 1 | Laying the Foundation | 1 Week

Completed in just one week ahead of an important site visit, Phase 1 focused on transforming the main lobby into a welcoming, branded space that reflects the facility’s identity and culture.

Phase 2 | Transforming York | 27 Weeks

Phase 2 expanded the transformation throughout the facility’s new addition and remodeled building, encompassing both the basement and main level. The project included employee spaces, training and conference rooms, administrative areas, hallways, clean rooms, and other key areas throughout the site.

 

With construction and remodeling already underway when the design process began, the project required ongoing coordination to accommodate evolving spaces and construction schedules.

 

This phase also coincided with PepsiCo’s newly implemented design governance process and updated brand guidelines. Unlike previous projects that required only site-level approval, designs and graphics now underwent additional corporate review to ensure brand compliance.


The combination of active construction, expanded approval requirements, and new brand standards extended the project timeline to 27 weeks, resulting in a cohesive transformation aligned with PepsiCo’s evolving visual identity.

Phase 0 | Laying the Foundation | 10 Weeks

The transformation began with refreshed spaces throughout the facility, including the employee break room, HR wall, main lobby, and executive conference room. These initial projects established the foundation for a more cohesive and engaging workplace environment.

Phase 1 | Transforming Modesto Core | 9 Weeks

Building on the initial improvements, Phase 1 expanded into Modesto Core with enhancements to the exterior wall, employee hallways, Recognition & Rewards Hall, clean room, and conference and training rooms. The focus was on creating connected spaces that reflect the site’s people and culture.

Phase 2 | Expanding into Modesto East | 8 Weeks

The transformation continued into Modesto East, bringing a refreshed look to the entrance, employee hallways and corridors, clean room, and break room. This phase extended the visual identity across additional employee spaces, creating a more welcoming and consistent environment.

Phase 3 | Continuing the Transformation | 7 Weeks

The latest phase returned to Modesto Core with updates to the lobby, computer break area, warehouse break room, and HR area. It also expanded employee safety messaging through dedicated walls across Core, East, and Traffic, reinforcing the site’s commitment to its people and workplace safety.
